Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visits the place where Uncle Ho worked in the US more than 100 years ago.
The Prime Minister visited the Omni Parker House hotel in Boston, where President Ho Chi Minh worked as a pastry chef from 1911 to 1913.
On the afternoon of May 14, local time,Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinhand the Vietnamese delegation visited the place where President Ho Chi Minh used to work at the Omni Parker House Hotel, Boston, Massachusetts, during his visit and work in the US.
Writing in the guestbook here, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wrote: "I was very moved when visiting Omni Parker House Hotel and the place where the great President Ho Chi Minh, national liberation hero, world cultural celebrity once worked; I sincerely thank the Board of Directors and hotel staff for their guidance and enthusiastic support.
I hope that the Omni Parker House Hotel will continue to be a meaningful stop for Vietnamese people and international friends interested in learning about President Ho Chi Minh's journey to find a way to save the country, as well as his contributions to laying the foundation for the Vietnam - US friendship and cooperation and connecting the ideas of independence and freedom, for the prosperous development of the two countries, peoples and the interests of the two peoples.".
The Omni Parker House Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Boston, built in 1855. During the years 1911-1913, President Ho Chi Minh worked here as a pastry chef. This place preserves the authentic and vivid image of President Ho Chi Minh who was present here more than 100 years ago.
Hotel information and a brochure about the Omni Parker House hotel are placed in glass frames carefully hung along the basement hallway wall.
Old documents with many pictures and articles about the daily life of Boston people in the previous period specifically stated: "Ho Chi Minh held the position of pastry chef of Parker from 1911-1913. The table where he worked is still in this bakery....".
