Prime Minister approves the Health Cooperation Program with WHO for the period 2016 - 2017

The Prime Minister has just approved the list of "Medical cooperation programs with the World Health Organization, fiscal year 2016 - 2017" sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The above cooperation program lasts from 2016 - 2017 with the goal of contributing to supporting the Vietnamese health sector in effectively implementing the Strategy for protecting, caring for and improving people's health for the period 2011 - 2020, with a vision to 2030 according to Decision No. 122/QD-TTg dated January 10, 2013 of the Prime Minister.

Specifically, the Program will contribute to reducing the burden of infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, fever, malaria, and vaccination through technical assistance activities, policy dialogue, inter-sectoral cooperation, and monitoring and evaluation.

At the same time, the Program supports the implementation of the National Strategy for the prevention and control of cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and other non-communicable diseases; contributes to reducing morbidity and mortality and improving the health of mothers, children, newborns and the elderly in a dynamic and healthy direction; supports the strengthening of the health system with key focuses; contributes to supporting the preparation, monitoring and effective management of epidemics to respond to public health emergencies through technical assistance activities, the development of legal documents and monitoring and response.../.
