(Baonghean.vn) - After a stranger broke into the house and stole the phone, the 17-month-old baby also became unconscious, causing many people to speculate that the baby was suspected of being sprayed with sleeping pills in an attempt to kidnap him.

In recent days, people in the mountainous commune of Cao Son (Anh Son district - Nghe An) have been buzzing about the above story. To find out the truth of this issue, we went and talked directly with the child's family.

In a house located on the Ho Chi Minh trail near Cay Queo market (Cao Son commune), Ms. Le Thi Thu (born 1989), the child's mother, recounted that: Around 10:00 a.m. on April 23, Ms. Thu left her child (17 months old) to drink milk by herself in the room behind the house. At that time, Ms. Thu was cutting firewood in the garden, about 5 meters away from where the child was sitting but out of sight. Hearing the sound of a motorbike coming in front of the house, thinking it was someone she knew, Ms. Thu did not pay attention.

A few minutes later, seeing that her child did not respond, Ms. Thu ran in. Outside the door, she saw a young man about 30 years old, tall and wearing a brown shirt, riding a Dream II motorbike, speeding past the house towards Tan Ky. Sensing something was wrong, she called out to her neighbor and asked: "Is there someone new in your house?" and received a nod.

Panicked, Ms. Thu hurriedly went into the house to get her phone to call her husband who was at work, only to find out that the phone had disappeared. Running back to where her child was sitting, Ms. Thu was shocked to see her child slowly fading away and becoming unconscious.

“My child is very difficult, even when his grandparents come to hold him, he cries. But that day, he couldn't cry at all and just fainted,” said Thu.

After that, she and her family took her child to Anh Son District General Hospital for a check-up, but as soon as they arrived, the child woke up. Ms. Thu said: “After waking up, the child vomited and showed signs of panic, although my child had never been like that before. We cannot confirm whether the child was sprayed with sleeping gas to kidnap him or not, but it is true that I lost a phone.”

Ms. Le Thi Thu's family then reported the incident to the Cao Son commune authorities. Mr. Nguyen Hong Tien - Chief of Cao Son commune police confirmed: "The child's family has reported it and we have also started working. However, up to now, it is still not possible to confirm whether this is a case of attempted child kidnapping or not. There is also a theft of property because Ms. Thu lost a phone worth 5 million VND. There is no exact conclusion yet, but we still advise people to be vigilant."
