Baonghean.vn - On October 31, 2016, the People's Committee of Que Phong district decided to fine 50 million VND to Dakrong Hydropower Joint Stock Company - the investor of Dong Van Hydropower project.

In response to press reports, on October 12, the People's Committee of Que Phong district conducted an inspection and discovered that Dakrong Hydropower Joint Stock Company illegally exploited construction stone outside the permitted area, causing traffic insecurity on the Western Nghe An route (National Highway 16).

Based on the results of the on-site inspection, on October 31, 2016, the People's Committee of Que Phong district issued Decision 1690/QD-XPVPHC to sanction administrative violations in the field of minerals against Dakrong Hydropower Company with a maximum fine under its authority of VND 50,000,000.

Regarding the organization of construction of the Buddha statue at Km194+654 National Highway 16, the People's Committee of Que Phong district also inspected and determined that Dakrong Hydropower Joint Stock Company had the acts of "Organizing construction without a construction permit when according to regulations a construction permit is required", "Violating traffic safety corridors without permission from competent authorities".

The erection of a Buddha statue by Dong Van Hydropower Joint Stock Company along Highway 16 causes traffic insecurity.

With these violations, Dakrong Hydropower Joint Stock Company was also issued an administrative violation record by the People's Committee of Que Phong district.
