The reigning Miss Grand International received many reactions from the online community when she called for donations to an individual's account.

On the evening of September 28, before the impact and devastation of storm No. 4 when it made landfall in the central provinces such as Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai..., many organizations and individuals stood up to call for and donate money to help people in the storm's center.

Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien also called on people to donate money to support the people of Central Vietnam through the Suoi Mat Tu Tam Club of Sen Vang - the beauty queen's management company. At the same time, the beauty also contributed 50 million VND to help the people.

Thuy Tien deleted the charity donation post.

However, Thuy Tien's call for charitable donations received mixed reactions from the public. Some online accounts said that Miss Grand International 2021 should call on people to donate to the accounts of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Red Cross Society instead of to an individual's account.

Meanwhile, others said the beauty queen's actions should be recognized and not hastily criticized.

In response to public comments, Thuy Tien said: "When I contributed, I only hoped to spread the message and help more people. After taking note of everyone's comments, I decided to only contribute personally and stop posting my account information to avoid negative information around me."

Thuy Tien also said that after the Miss Grand International 2022 finals end, she and some other beauties will go to the Central region to help people there.

"We will fulfill our promise and do our best for the people of Central Vietnam. May peace come to all of us," she shared.

Ms. Pham Kim Dung - Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Grand Vietnam 2022 said that she will allocate 500 million VND from the company's Suoi Mat Tu Tam charity fund to help people in the Central provinces affected by storm Noru.

Miss Vietnam 2018 Tieu Vy said that after the storm passes, she will return to her hometown to help her people. For now, she can only pray for the safety of people in the provinces affected by the storm.

From Egypt, runner-up Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc said she is very worried about the flood situation in her homeland.

"I still remember the 2020 storm and flood in the Central region, when Ngoc participated in calling for support for the people. Only recently, the people of the Central region had to be resilient once again. Ngoc lives far away, so she only hopes that people will evacuate in time," the beauty expressed.
