Young midfielder of Song Lam Nghe An honored by British newspaper
(Baonghean.vn) - In the list of 60 potential players born in 2006 around the world by the British newspaper Guardian, Le Dinh Long Vu is the only representative from Southeast Asia to appear.
In this list, in Asia, there are only two more players selected: striker Gaku Nawata (Japan) and Kim Myung-jun (Korea). The list also includes famous players such as Endrick (Real Madrid), or Warren Zaire-Emery (PSG).
In the introduction toLe Dinh Long VuIn the Guardian, journalist John Duerden wrote: "He made such a big impression at the U17 Asian tournament that he was called up to the U23s. Long Vu's speed, small physique, ability to dribble and cross the ball into the penalty area has led many to compare him to Phil Foden. Young Vietnamese players often do not progress as much as expected, but Long Vu can go very far if properly trained."
Le Dinh Long Vu was born on May 27, 2006 in Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province, and joined SLNA at the age of 11. In 2020, Le Dinh Long Vu joined the U15 Song Lam Nghe An team to participate in the National U15 Tournament.

In this tournament, although the Nghe An team only stopped at the semi-finals, Le Dinh Long Vu left a strong impression on experts when almost all of the goals of Nghe An U15 team were scored by this winger. Thanks to that, after the tournament, Long Vu was called by coach Hoang Anh Tuan to join the Vietnam U16 team.
After training with the national team, Le Dinh Long Vu went to Germany to attend training sessions with the country's top clubs such as Dortmund, Borussia Monchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Cologne...
In October 2018, at the 2023 AFC U17 Championship Qualifiers held in Vietnam, Le Dinh Long Vu somewhat affirmed his talent in the eyes of fans. In particular, in the final match against Thailand U17, the player born in 2006 played explosively, contributing greatly to the 3-0 victory for Vietnam U17, helping Vietnam U17 win a ticket to the final round of the 2023 AFC U17 Championship.

At the 2023 AFC U17 Finals held in June 2023, Le Dinh Long Vu also had impressive performances. This 17-year-old player was the one who scored the only goal of Vietnam U17 in this tournament.
Thanks to that performance, Le Dinh Long Vu continued to be named by coach Hoang Anh Tuan to participate in the U23 Southeast Asian tournament with U23 Vietnam in August 2023. Although he did not score or assist in this tournament, Long Vu still left many impressions with his skillful dribbling and dangerous crosses, contributing to his teammates' championship.
Before Le Dinh Long Vu, Vietnam had a player who was also on the Guardian's list, midfielder Phan Thanh Hau in 2014. Thanh Hau was part of the second generation of the HAGL academy, playing for the first team from 2015-2022 but has only played 50 matches in the V-League. At the age of 26, he is playing for Phu Dong in the First Division.
