Receiving artifacts about President Kaysone Phomvihane
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 17, the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum held a ceremony to receive the artifact of the chair used by President Kaysone Phomvihane (Lao PDR) in 1952 in Tien Thuy commune, Quynh Luu district.
Attending the event were comrade Duong-chit Chay-xay-vang - Head of the Delegation of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Xieng Khouang province; representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Nghe An province; and leaders of Tien Thuy commune (Quynh Luu).
In 1952, at the invitation of the Vietnamese State, comrade Kaysone Phomvihane - Leader of the Pathet Lao visited, worked and rested for a month and a half in Tien Thuy commune, Quynh Luu district, to prepare for the Upper Laos campaign in 1953. Here, he used a wooden chair of Mrs. Truong Thi Yen's family to sit and work and read books and newspapers.
After more than 50 years, this chair has been preserved intact by the family and the locality. In order for this sacred and friendship-filled relic to be preserved for a long time and serve domestic and foreign visitors, the family and the locality wish to donate it to the Nghe Tinh Soviet Museum to display in the special room "The life and revolutionary career of President Kaysone Phomvihane and the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos".
