(Baonghean.vn) - The hilltop at the Cho slope landslide point on National Highway 7 (Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong district - Nghe An) continues to have a series of large cracks, threatening the safety of people and vehicles.

Since the beginning of the rainy season, at Km 110 + 800, National Highway 7 passing through Cho slope in Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong district, has often faced local traffic jams. There have been times when thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil have collapsed, causing traffic jams that last for hours. Photo: Ho Phuong
Due to weak ground and the impact of prolonged heavy rains, part of the mountain has collapsed. Currently, a series of large cracks have appeared at the landslide site, threatening the safety of National Highway 7. Photo: Ho Phuong
Information from the Con Cuong Road Management Department: "Because the landslide was too large and located on a high hill, the Department sent people to inspect and send a report to the superior unit. Currently, the Department also has 2 wheel loaders and 1 excavator on duty 24/7 to clear the road whenever there is a phenomenon of rock and soil collapsing and causing traffic jams. Photo: Ho Phuong
There are cracks 20 to 50cm wide and nearly 2m deep, threatening the safety of people and vehicles participating in traffic. Photo: Ho Phuong
The landslide point is only about 100m away from the power pole of the 220KV high voltage line running through here. Photo: Ho Phuong
An officer of the Con Cuong Road Management Department said that one of the reasons for the large landslide that occurred over a long period of time was because at this landslide point there was an underground water source that caused the soil on the mountain to gradually erode and subside. Although the weather in the area has improved, rocks and soil from the mountain still slide down this road every day. Photo: Ho Phuong
Due to landslides, the railings of this section of the highway were also severely damaged. Photo: Ho Phuong
Many times, people and vehicles traveling on National Highway 7 had to wait for days to be able to travel due to landslides on this road section. And now, that risk still exists as a series of cracks on the mountain continue to break down over time. Photo: Ho Phuong
