Searching for a 6th grade female student in Nghe An who went missing after returning from a friend's birthday party

On the evening of November 4, relatives and local authorities were trying to find Nguyen Thi Tam (born 2008), a 6th grade student residing in Hau Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, Nghe An, who went missing while returning home from a friend's birthday party.

Before that, on the afternoon of November 3, Tam and a group of friends cycled to Phu Thuong hamlet (Hau Thanh commune) to attend a classmate's birthday party. At around 4:20 p.m., Tam said goodbye and left early because her house was far away and she was afraid it would get dark.

However, by the evening of the same day, Tam’s relatives still had not seen her return home, so they went to her friend’s house to ask and search for her. During the search, the relatives discovered Tam’s hat and coat at the foot of Bau Ganh irrigation dam (Hau Thanh commune). Hearing that her family was looking for her, a resident of Hau Thanh commune said they also discovered a bicycle left on the bank of Bau Ganh dam, so they brought the bicycle home. The family confirmed that it was the bicycle that Tam was riding.

Mr. Pham Van Luyen - Chairman of Hau Thanh Commune People's Committee said: "On the night of November 3 and today (November 4), hundreds of people and the commune police force went down to Bau Ganh dam to search for Tam, but could not find her. We have reported the incident to Yen Thanh District Police and are continuing to urgently search for Tam."
