1. Prime Minister attends the opening of ASEAN-31

On the morning of November 13, in Manila, the Philippines, the opening ceremony of the 31st ASEAN Summit (ASEAN-31) was held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and leaders of 10 ASEAN countries and partner countries attended the opening ceremony.

This is the most important event of the year for ASEAN with the participation of leaders of 10 ASEAN countries and partners including China, Japan, South Korea, the United States, Russia, India, Australia, New Zealand and important regional and international organizations such as the European Union (EU) and the United Nations.Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the conference.

2. Continuing the 4th session of the 14th National Assembly

Last week, the 4th session of the 14th National Assembly continued. On the afternoon of November 14, the 14th National Assembly voted to approve the draft Resolution on the allocation of the central budget in 2018.

According to the draft Resolution on Central budget allocation in 2018, the total central budget revenue is 753,404 billion VND. The total local budget revenue is 565,796 billion VND. The total central budget expenditure is 948,404 billion VND, of which 321,151 billion VND is estimated to supplement the budget balance and supplement the local budget with targets.

Next, four ministers took the floor to answer questions from delegates: including the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Information and Communications, the Governor of the State Bank and the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court.

On November 18, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc answered questions before the National Assembly.

3. The Central Inspection Commission reviewed and disciplined many leaders.

From November 7 to 9, in Hanoi, the Central Inspection Commission held its 19th meeting. Comrade Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, and Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission chaired the meeting. At this meeting, the Central Inspection Commission reviewed and concluded a number of main contents.

Accordingly, the Central Inspection Committee requested the Standing Committee of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee to organize a review and handle the responsibilities of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee and collectives and individuals;... decided to apply a "Warning" disciplinary measure against Major General Hoang Cong Ham.

4. Consider dismissing Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh from the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang

On November 13, the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee sent a document to the Politburo and the Secretariat asking for opinions on personnel issues of Da Nang City, including the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh from the position of Chairman of the 9th Da Nang City People's Council, term 2016-2021 in the coming time.

It is known that in the above document, the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee also proposed a person to be in charge of the Da Nang City People's Council for the 2016-2021 term in the coming time. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Nho Trung (Member of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Council) was proposed to take on the responsibility of being in charge of the Da Nang City People's Council.

5. Awarding of Vietnam Talent Awards 2017

On the evening of November 16, at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi), the 2017 Vietnam Talent Awards ceremony took place. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the award ceremony.

The product "Application of 3D virtual reality simulation technology to build the human body to serve teaching, learning and research in the health science sector" received First Prize in the Information Technology field of the Vietnam Talent Awards 2017.

Speaking at the award ceremony last night (November 16), Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that "talents are the vital energy of the nation", the prosperity and decline of the country depends on "talents". The Prime Minister called on Vietnamese talents in all fields to build a learning and creative society, an ideal environment for the development of a creative and active Government. The Government's determination must be realized with creative solutions, plans and schemes containing modern intellectuals and Vietnamese wisdom.
