South Korean President considers Vietnam the most important cooperation partner
Speaking at the meeting, the President of South Korea affirmed that Vietnam is the most important cooperation partner in South Korea's policy towards the South.

The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated and valued the President’s visit, believing that the visit would be a great success, contributing to consolidating and developing the strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries. On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman congratulated the Republic of Korea on successfully organizing the 2018 Pyeonchang Winter Olympics, making a positive contribution to peace, stability, and friendly exchanges and cooperation among countries in the region and the world.
President Moon Jae-in thanked the National Assembly Chairman for taking the time to welcome him, and affirmed that since the two countries established diplomatic relations, the relationship has developed strongly in all fields.
Currently, South Korea is Vietnam's second largest trading partner and Vietnam is South Korea's fourth largest trading partner. Based on the relationship between the two countries, the South Korean President hopes that the strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries will be raised to a new level.
South Korea is developing a Southern Policy and hopes to have close cooperation with ASEAN countries. In this regard, the President of South Korea affirmed that South Korea considers Vietnam as its most important cooperation partner.
National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed her delight at the strong development of the Vietnam-Korea strategic cooperative partnership, with high-level exchanges maintained regularly, cooperation in various fields developing remarkably, and people-to-people exchanges taking place actively and closely.
Vietnam and Korea have many similarities in history and culture. In addition to national relations, Vietnam and Korea also have in-law relations with about 150,000 citizens of one country living and working in the other country, 60,000 Korean families with Vietnamese brides; exchange and travel activities between the people of the two countries are bustling and vibrant with about 100 direct flights/week between the two countries.
The National Assembly Chairman said that the relationship between the Vietnamese and Korean National Assemblies is developing well. The two sides are actively implementing the contents of the Cooperation Agreement signed in July 2013. The two National Assemblies have established the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Parliamentarians Group with many successful exchange activities, contributing to promoting the friendship and cooperation between the two peoples.
At international and regional inter-parliamentary forums, the National Assembly delegations of the two countries regularly consult and support each other; they have many similar views on economics, security - defense as well as international and regional issues.
In order to further promote the relationship between the two countries and the two National Assemblies, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that both sides continue to maintain regular high-level exchanges and contacts to create favorable conditions for enhancing exchanges and cooperation between levels, sectors and localities. Promote cultural, educational, tourism cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges in various forms; both sides cooperate to protect each other's citizens.

Effectively implement the Cooperation Agreement between the National Assemblies of the two countries, enhance the exchange of experience in legislative and supervisory activities of the National Assembly and its agencies; support the National Assembly Deputies of the two countries to increase the exchange of information and working experience; urge and promote the Governments of the two countries to implement the signed Agreements; enhance coordination and mutual support at regional and international inter-parliamentary forums, actively contributing to maintaining peace, security and stability in the region and the world.
The President of the Republic of Korea expressed his high agreement with National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and hoped that the two governments would continue to have support programs for Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families in each country. The Korean government has expanded new policies and programs to protect the human rights of Vietnamese brides in Korea.
The President of the Republic of Korea said that during this visit, the two sides reached an agreement on the Social Insurance Agreement, and asked the Vietnamese National Assembly to pay attention and create conditions for the Agreement to be implemented soon.
To strengthen friendly cooperation between the two countries, language exchange is also very important, the President of South Korea shared that since 2014, Vietnamese has been included in the university entrance exam in Korea, and at the same time hopes that Vietnam will soon include Korean as a university entrance exam in Vietnam./.
