According to RT, Mr. Nieto announced on his Twitter page: "This morning I informed the White House that I will not attend the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the US President."
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that if Mexico did not pay for the border wall between the two countries, it would be "better" to cancel a scheduled meeting with the Mexican President.
US President Donald Trump has signed a special executive order to build a wall along the border with Mexico and stressed that construction will begin "immediately".
In response to Mr. Trump's decision, Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto declared to the nation that the country will not pay for the aforementioned walls.
“I regret and condemn the decision of the United States to continue building the border wall that for years has divided us, instead of uniting us,” Enrique Pena Nieto declared.
