Russian President V. Putin warned: Consequences of omission will be considered criminal negligence, not just administrative.

On the afternoon of April 13, speaking at an online meeting on the sanitary-epidemiological situation in Russia in the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic, Russian President V. Putin warned: Any shortcomings that cause consequences will be considered criminal negligence, not just administrative in nature.

Speaking at a meeting attended by senior Russian officials, President V. Putin mentioned negative developments in some regions of the country. According to him, "if not an outbreak, then a significant increase in patients infected with Covid-19 has been recorded." He said that this was the result of slowness and he could not call it otherwise.

The Russian leader said that, unlike Moscow and the Moscow region, the rest of Russia is lagging behind the wave of Covid-19 infections by three to four weeks. This gives regional authorities a chance to protect citizens from the pandemic as much as possible. This means, he said, that regions still have a time limit.

President V. Putin pointed out:“But this margin can dissipate quickly, it cannot be used thoughtlessly, it should be used in the most effective way, again, I want to note that if something is not done in time, I will consider this as criminal negligence with all the ensuing consequences, not only of an administrative nature”.

Therefore, the head of Russia asked "local experts, heads of the subjects of the Russian Federation, doctors, heads of companies to take all the requests of sanitary doctors and experts in the most serious way. He said that it is necessary to constantly analyze what is happening and being done throughout the country, and as a result, to react quickly and professionally to what is happening.

At the same time, President V. Putin called for the mobilization of the forces of the Ministry of Defense, if necessary, to combat the spread of the epidemic. According to him, the Ministry of Defense has reserves. With the additional funds allocated, the Ministry of Defense has launched work in many regions of the Russian Federation to build new infectious disease medical facilities, which, if necessary, can also be used in the medium term.

It is expected that this week and early next week, the capital Moscow and Moscow region may reach their peak in the number of people infected with Covid-19. From there, the Russian government and specialized agencies can adjust their strategies and tactics in fighting the epidemic in this country, taking proactive actions to minimize negative impacts./.
