Russian President Vladimir Putin on March 3 gave a speech to supporters ahead of the upcoming presidential election on March 18.

In his speech, Mr. Putin pledged that if he won, he would bring a bright future to the country: “We have clear and superior goals. We want to make Russia brighter, looking to the future because our ancestors lived here, our children live here and our grandchildren will live here. We will do everything to make everyone happy. We will do it, and no one else."

Two days earlier, on March 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin began reading the Federal Message before the two houses of the Russian Federal Parliament. This was the last Federal Message in Mr. Putin's third presidential term, but it had a special "attraction" to the people of the White Birch country, as well as international public opinion, because this Message was considered the Russian leader's election platform before the election.

A poll released on February 22 said Russian President Putin received the support of nearly 70% of voters in the presidential election.

According to the plan, on March 18, Russian voters will go to the polls to elect a president. The list of candidates has been finalized with 8 people. Observers on the spot said that there has been no factor preventing Mr. Putin from being re-elected and the race will only involve the 2nd and 3rd positions.
