President Putin hopes the use of Russia's cancer vaccine will create a breakthrough
President Putin said that putting Russia's cancer vaccine into use would be a major breakthrough in medicine.

According to RIA Novosti, during a meeting with the head of the Russian Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) Vernonica Skvortsova, President Vladimir Putin said that the introduction of Russia's anti-cancer vaccine would be a major breakthrough.
The FMBA Director told President Putin that the whole world is currently trying to develop individualized medicines, including cancer vaccines. The peculiarity of their creation is related to different dynamics of activation of the human immune system. Therefore, Russian specialists have developed several drugs on different platforms.
“These are peptides on nanoparticles, and they are mRNA vaccines,” Skvortsova explained.
According to the director of FMBA, Russian scientists have been conducting research for about 3 years and have achieved great success. Thus, an experiment with the most malignant intestinal adenocarcinoma in animals showed not only a significant slowdown in tumor growth, but also a reduction in its volume by 75-80%.
"Animals do not die when taking drugs, but continue to live and can control the disease," Ms. Skvortsova emphasized.
Responding to President Putin's question about when the vaccine will be used for human treatment, Ms. Skvortsova said: "Thanks to the law on the use of personalized medicine that was passed this year, we hope to start using the vaccine for humans in 2025."
President Putin affirmed that the use of cancer vaccines for humans will be a major breakthrough.
Preclinical trials of this cancer vaccine were completed in September 2024. Director General of the National Medical Research Center of Radiology under the Ministry of Health of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Kaprin, announced that the first phase of clinical trials will begin after receiving approval from the Ministry of Health.
According to Academician Kaprin, the essence of the Russian cancer vaccine lies in collecting tumor material from the patient, analyzing its characteristics and creating a unique profile of that tumor, which is then used to develop a personalized vaccine.
