President Putin receives invitation to attend G20 Summit
(Baonghean.vn)- Leaders of all G20 member countries are invited to attend the group's upcoming Summit later this year, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati announced.
This year, Indonesia holds the rotating presidency of the G20. The G20 Summit will be held in Bali next November.
“We have invited (Putin),” Indrawati said at an event at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She noted that invitations to such major events are sent to leaders in advance. Indrawati added that all G20 countries have received invitations.
On April 7, Mr. Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the President of Russia said that the decision onPresident Vladimir PutinAttendance at the G20 Summit will be decided depending on the development of the situation.

On March 23, Jamaladin Gasanov, a member of the Russian State Duma (lower house) Committee on Energy, told the Izvestia newspaper that none of the G20 countries has the right to strip another country of its membership. According to him, this is a platform that creates opportunities for dialogue in times of crisis.
On March 1, diplomats from the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom and the United States left the hall as Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov addressed the United Nations' highest-level human rights forum in Geneva. Diplomats from Yemen, Syria, Tunisia, Algeria and Venezuela were among those who remained in the hall. The diplomats' attitude was linked to Russia's military intervention in Ukraine./
