President Putin self-quarantines after many relatives infected with Covid-19
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on September 16 that he would self-isolate for "several days" after dozens of close associates were infected with Covid-19.
Russia's TASS news agency reported that because of this new outbreak,PresidentPutinunable to attend the regional security conference in Tajikistan in person and will deliver a video address to the conference.

"It's not just one or two people who are infected, but dozens of people," the Russian leader said. "And now I have to continue to isolate myself for several days."
Mr. Putin, 68 years old this year, has received two doses of the Sputnik V vaccine.
The Kremlin confirmed on September 14 that Putin was self-isolating due to Covid-19 cases in his entourage. At that time, spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the Russian president would "follow the self-isolation procedure for a period of time" and that he would continue working via video conferences.
