"Mr. Zelensky will come to see me on Friday. And I know what he's going to say. He wants Tomahawks," the US President said on October 14 (Washington time).

Mr. Trump also said that the states have a large arsenal of these weapons.

According to the Kyiv Post, Mr. Zelensky will try to participate in the creation of the US "Golden Dome" missile defense system during his upcoming visit to the US.

Last week, President Donald Trump said he was “almost certain” to provide long-range US missiles to Ukraine, but he wanted to understand how Kiev planned to use them.

The Kremlin warned that such a move could become a serious escalation, as the Tomahawk missile has a nuclear weapon version.

In response to this move, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Moscow's response would be to strengthen its air defense capabilities. Putin also stressed that the transfer of Tomahawks to Ukraine would damage relations between Russia and the United States, and that Ukraine could not use these missiles without the direct participation of US military personnel.

Meanwhile, the US permanent representative to NATO, Mr. Matthew Whitaker, said that Washington will make an important statement on this on October 15. Along with that, Mr. Whitaker expressed hope that the promises from allies to allocate a large amount of money to buy weapons for Ukraine will be implemented on October 15.
