Previously, the Venezuelan government said that the US and Colombia seemed to be hiding the elements that organized the assassination and asked the authorities of these two countries to hand over the suspects.
"A group of terrorist criminals has fled to Peru, trying to hide and seek protection. I call on the Peruvian authorities to arrest them and hand them over to us," President Maduro said on national television.
According to him, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry has initiated corresponding contacts with the Peruvian authorities.
At the same time, Mr. Maduro does not believe that President Donald Trump would harbor criminals, although, according to him, it was Miami in the United States that was the origin of a drone that exploded right next to the presidential podium in Caracas last week.
"Despite all the conflicts with Trump, I do not believe that he will shield murderers in his country," the Venezuelan leader declared.
