Vinh City: Strengthen fire prevention and fighting inspections at entertainment facilities and shopping malls

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 12, Fire Police Department No. 1 held a conference to summarize the work of 2016 and deploy the work program of 2017.

Attending the conference were comrades: Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee; Colonel Ho Sy Tuan - Director of the Provincial Fire Police; representatives of the leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee and related departments of Vinh City.

Taking on the task of fire prevention and fighting in Vinh City, in 2016, Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department No. 1 closely followed the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Fire Prevention and Fighting Police, effectively implementing all aspects of work, excellently completing all assigned tasks.

During the year, the unit proactively did a good job of surveying and accurately forecasting the fire prevention and fighting situation in the area, thereby advising the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee to issue 14 documents directing the implementation of state management of fire prevention and fighting; guiding wards and communes in the area to issue 325 documents directing and implementing fire prevention and fighting work; organizing 37 classes to propagate and foster fire prevention and fighting skills at the grassroots level with 2,691 participants...

In addition, the unit has strengthened fire safety inspection and examination, conducted inspections of 1,127 establishments, handled 149 violations, and imposed fines of more than VND 260 million; organized inspections of 7 topics such as high-rise apartments, karaoke businesses, markets, shopping centers, etc.

In 2016, Fire Police Department No. 1 was recognized with the title of "Determined to Win Unit", and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the leaders of Nghe An Fire Police for its outstanding achievements in ensuring security and order, fire safety in the area; 4 individuals received Certificates of Merit for their outstanding achievements in work and combat; 14 individuals received the title of emulation soldier at the grassroots level.

At the Conference, the leaders of Nghe An Fire Police acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of Fire Police Department No. 1 in 2016; at the same time, they requested that in the coming time, the unit should focus on building grassroots fire prevention and fighting forces and civil defense forces with the motto "4 on-site"; strengthen fire safety inspections, especially at karaoke establishments, markets, shopping malls, and crowded places...

On this occasion, the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee led by Comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and extended New Year greetings to all leaders and officers of Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department No. 1 on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2017. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hoped that the officers and soldiers would promote the achieved results, promote the core role in ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety and rescue, contributing to the implementation of the task of socio-economic development in the area./.
