Dien Tho Commune Health Station has 1 doctor, 1 physician, 2 nurses and 2 midwives. Under the direction of the Health Department, District Health Center; the attention of the Party Committee, Commune People's Committee and departments, branches and organizations, Dien Tho Commune Health Station has invested in building infrastructure and equipped with quite adequate medical machinery and supplies, ensuring medical examination and treatment at the commune level.
Over the years, the station has always performed well and completed its assigned tasks. Every year, from the beginning of the year, the station advises the Party Committee and the commune government to complete the Initial Health Care Steering Committee and the Disease Prevention and Control Steering Committee; documents guiding and directing the work of disease prevention and control, environmental sanitation and national health programs in the commune.
At the same time, the station also advised the commune to establish an inspection team for private medical and pharmaceutical establishments, food businesses, etc. operating in the area to promptly rectify and be more serious in ensuring environmental hygiene and safety for people's health and lives.
On the other hand, the station also strengthens the communication and education of health and environmental sanitation on the radio of the commune and hamlet to raise awareness for the whole society. Identifying primary health care for the people as an important task, in recent years, the staff of the station always keep in mind to carry out Uncle Ho's teaching "A good doctor is like a mother"; take good care of patients; carry out the 12 medical ethics; maintain the on-duty schedule, be present when patients need it, regardless of weekends and holidays to fulfill medical ethics... and are trusted by patients inside and outside the commune to come for medical examination and treatment.

Every year, the station has organized medical examination and treatment for over 7,000 patients; reaching a rate of about 0.9 people/year. In particular, 2015 was a year of complicated epidemics; especially AH5N1 flu, AH7N9 flu, dengue fever... However, thanks to the implementation plan at the beginning of the year and the attention of the Party Committee, the District Health Center directly directed the mobilization of the entire population to clean the environment, treat waste, spray insecticides to kill mosquitoes, disinfect, and check food hygiene and safety, so dangerous epidemics did not occur in the commune.
Not only does the station do a good job of examining and treating people, it also closely follows and effectively implements national health target programs and preventive work for people. In particular, the station always has a monthly and quarterly management book for monitoring tuberculosis patients; fully advises patients on the use of drugs in the right dose and at the right time; and detects new tuberculosis patients who are transferred to higher levels for early treatment. The station also attaches importance to introducing and guiding people to use herbal medicines available locally.

Every year, 98% of children under 1 year old in the commune are fully vaccinated, following the safe vaccination process as prescribed. Children under 5 years old receive Vitamin A and regular deworming, reaching 98%, 100% of children under 2 years old are monitored for growth charts, all children under 5 years old receive nutrition counseling. Reproductive health care and family planning are given attention; 100% of pregnant women receive pregnancy management, regular prenatal check-ups, tetanus vaccination, iron supplements to prevent anemia, postpartum care and Vitamin A, etc. |
