(Baonghean.vn) - On May 23, in Muong Xen town (Ky Son), a solemn ceremony was held to welcome the remains of 103 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Lao PDR back to Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony, on the Lao side, there were comrade Phu Vong Bun Xu - Deputy Governor of Vientiane province and the working delegation; comrade Si Vi Lay Seng Cha Lon - Deputy Governor of Xieng Khouang province and the working delegation; comrade Vong Xon In Phan Phim - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Xay Xom Bun province and the working delegation.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Special Working Group of Nghe An province; Colonel Pham Van Dong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command; and comrades in the Special Working Group of the province; and representatives of the leaders of Ky Son district; teachers and students of Ky Son High School, Middle School, Primary School of Muong Xen town; leaders, authorities and a large number of people in Muong Xen town.

This is 103martyrs remainsThe Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos were supported by the Nghe An Provincial Military Command's Collection Team, under the care of the Party Committee, government, armed forces, and people of Lao ethnic groups in general and the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, and Xay Xom Bun in particular, in terms of material, spiritual, and means. During their mission, the Nghe An Provincial Collection Team, despite difficulties and hardships, searched, exhumed, and brought them back for burial in the motherland.

After the solemn ceremony of silence, the delegates, teachers, students and local people respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the volunteer army and Vietnamese experts who sacrificed their lives in Laos and returned to their motherland. Welcoming them back to rest in the bosom of their motherland is an opportunity for today's generations to remember their achievements and also an opportunity for the ethnic people of Ky Son to express their gratitude to the heroic sons of the nation.

The ceremony to receive and move the remains of martyrs and volunteer soldiers took place solemnly and dignifiedly, demonstrating the traditional morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and gratitude, respect and appreciation for the heroic martyrs.

According to the plan, the remains of 103 Vietnamese martyrs and experts who died in Laos will be handed over to the provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to collect biological samples on May 24. After that, a memorial service and burial will be held at the Nghi Loc District Martyrs Cemetery on May 25.
