Solemn ceremony to welcome the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 22, in Muong Xen town (Ky Son), a ceremony was held to welcome the remains of 87 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos back to Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony, on the Lao side were leaders and special working delegations from Vientiane, Xieng Khouang, Xay Xom Bun provinces; on the Nghe An side were comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Special Working Committee of Nghe An province and comrades in the Special Working Group of the province; representatives of the Ky Son district leadership and a large number of cadres, teachers, students and people in the district.

These are the remains of 87 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos. With the attention of the Party Committee, the government, the armed forces, the people of Lao ethnic groups in general, and the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Xom Bun in particular, providing material, spiritual and means support, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team - Nghe An Provincial Military Command did not hesitate to face difficulties and hardships, searching for and exhuming the remains of the martyrs, bringing them back to the Motherland for burial.

After the solemn ceremony of silence, the delegates, teachers, students and local people respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs of the volunteer army and Vietnamese experts who sacrificed their lives in Laos. This is also an opportunity for today's generation and the people of Ky Son ethnic groups to express their gratitude and remember the merits of the heroes who sacrificed themselves for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the everlasting and everlasting friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

According to the plan, the remains of 87 Vietnamese martyrs and experts who died in Laos will be handed over to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to collect biological samples on May 23. After that, a memorial service and burial will be held at the Nghi Loc District Martyrs Cemetery on May 24./.
