Deploying activities to support the evacuation of Vietnamese people in Ukraine

The Citizen Protection Working Group, consisting of relevant units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has coordinated with Vietnamese representative agencies in Ukraine and neighboring countries to continue actively implementing activities to support the evacuation of Vietnamese people in Ukraine from war zones.

According to representative agencies, as of the afternoon of March 2 (Vietnam time), basically most of the people in Kiev and Odessa, hundreds of people in Kharkov have been evacuated from the area, and have been and are being arranged to neighboring countries.

140 people have gone from Ukraine to Poland and are now in Warsaw; 70 have gone to Romania; about 220 have gone to Moldova and will then be relocated to Romania; about 30 have gone to Hungary.

Vietnamese representative agencies support necessary procedures and documents for people entering and transiting, and coordinate with local authorities and Vietnamese associations in the host country to welcome and arrange temporary accommodation, and provide essential items for people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant ministries have reported to the Prime Minister the plan to evacuate citizens and will coordinate with airlines to soon organize flights back to the country according to the appropriate route for the actual situation.
