Deploying drills on defense areas, flood and storm prevention - search and rescue in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) – On the afternoon of June 7, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee held a meeting of the Steering Committee for the 2016 district-level flood and storm prevention and search and rescue drills.

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee chaired the conference. Also attending were Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and members of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee: Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Huu Lam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Ho Phuc Hop - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Colonel Ha Tan Tien - Commander of the Provincial Military Command.

Conference overview.

Over the past years, the Provincial Defense Zone Drill Steering Committee has paid attention to leading and directing districts, cities and towns to conduct defense zone drills and achieved many important results. From 2010 to present, 17/17 units conducting defense zone drills, flood and storm prevention and search and rescue drills have all achieved excellent results.

In 2016, Cua Lo Town and Que Phong District were selected to conduct defense zone drills; Tan Ky District was the location for flood and storm prevention and search and rescue drills.

In order for the drills to take place effectively and with quality, at the conference, members of the Steering Committee raised some opinions and recommendations from the practical situation at the grassroots level, advised on the contents of the instructions, and assigned specific responsibilities to the members.

Accordingly, the content, scale, time and progress of the drill are unified, creating favorable conditions for the drill activities, while at the same time, absolutely avoiding the situation of sketchy drills that are far from reality.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that during the preparation and practice of the exercise, the participating forces strictly follow the plan, well implement the program and content. The members of the Steering Committee grasped and followed the tasks, applied and handled the situations well, were creative, and achieved good results.

From the results of the exercise, the Steering Committee will draw lessons and create a basis for further research and development, promoting the construction of defense areas, flood and storm prevention and search and rescue in depth, meeting local military and defense tasks in the new situation.
