April 9, 2016 20:43

On April 9, the Border Guard Command of Quang Binh province announced that it had coordinated with the Border Guard Command and the Anti-Terrorism Security Force of Khammouane province (Laos) to successfully destroy a case of transporting 30,000 synthetic drug pills across the country.

Accordingly, at about 3:05 p.m. on April 7, at Xieng Liep village (Tha Khec district, Khammouane province, Laos), located right on National Highway 12A, the Quang Binh Border Guard force, the Anti-drug and Crime Department of the Border Guard Command in coordination with the Anti-drug Police force of Khammouane Provincial Security (Laos) successfully dismantled a drug trafficking case, catching red-handed Xi Pa Xot Bay Tham (born 966, residing in Vieng Kham village, Pac Ka Dinh district, Bu Li Kham Xay province, Laos) while transporting 30,000 synthetic drug pills (code WY) and many other valuable items.

According to the confession of Xi Pa Xot Bay Tham, the above goods were purchased from abroad with the purpose of approaching and connecting with Vietnamese people doing business and trading in Laos to bring drugs to Vietnam through Cha Lo international border gate for consumption.

It is known that this is a special project with code number 529Lv, which has cut off a transnational drug trafficking and transportation ring.

The case is currently under further investigation.
