Dismantling an explosives transport ring, arresting 2 subjects
(Baonghean.vn) - After nearly 6 months of investigation and monitoring, the Nghe An Border Guard force, in coordination with relevant agencies, has successfully fought against Project NA 1123.2p, destroying a ring of explosives trafficking and transportation in Hoang Mai town.
Accordingly, at 01:00 on April 17, 2024, in Dong Minh village, Quynh Lap commune (Hoang Mai town), the Drug and Crime Prevention and Control Department, Quynh Phuong and Quynh Thuan Border Guard Stations (Nghe An Border Guard) presided over and coordinated with Reconnaissance Team No. 1, Coast Guard Command and Investigation Security Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) to discover and arrest Nguyen Thi Thuy (born in 1976), residing in Dong Thanh village, Quynh Lap commune, Hoang Mai town, who was transporting 24 kg of explosives and 25 electric detonators.
During the investigation, Nguyen Thi Thuy confessed to transporting the above quantity of explosives and detonators from Hoang Mai town to Thanh Hoa province for sale; when arriving at the above location, she was discovered and arrested.
Expanding the investigation, on the night of April 17, in Dong Minh village, Quynh Lap commune, the anti-crime force arrested Le Van Dat (born in 1975), permanent resident of Quynh Van commune, Quynh Luu district, who was illegally transporting 24 kg of explosives, 25 detonators and some related evidence.
Conducting an urgent search of Le Van Dat's residence, the investigation force seized 2.5 meters of fuse.
The total amount of evidence seized in Project NA 1123.2p was 48 kg of explosives, 50 detonators, 2.5 m of slow-burning wire, 2 telephones, 1 car, 1 motorbike and other related evidence.
Currently, Nghe An Border Guard is expanding the investigation and completing the case file for handling according to the provisions of law./.
