Populist billionaire Andrej Babis' party wins Czech Republic's general election.

Andrej Babis' centrist ANO party received 30% of the vote, nearly three times that of the second-placed party.in the Czech Republic general election on October 20 and 21, according to BBC.

Andrej Babis, 63, is the Czech Republic's second-richest man and campaigned on a platform critical of the political establishment, skeptical of Europe and anti-immigration.He served as Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister from January 2014 to May 2017.

Babis is expected to become the country's new prime minister. HeDubbed the "Czech Trump" by international media because of the similarities in their styles, Babis said he intended to "run the country like a business".

Grandfatherhas an estimated $4 billion fortune in the chemicals, food and media industries, but he has also faced numerous scandals including fraud allegations.

BabisHe said he would not bring the Czech Republic into the eurozone but wanted the country to stay in the European Union (EU). He plans to propose changes to the European Council on issues such as food quality and immigration.
