Harvard University donates replica of precious artifact to Kim Lien National Special Relic Site

(Baonghean.vn) - This is a copy of a military unit's notebook on the battlefield, expressing their love for Uncle Ho as a symbol and motivation for soldiers to fight to protect the Fatherland.

On the morning of April 9, during a working program in Vietnam, a delegation from Harvard University (USA)led by Dr. Anthony Saich - Professor of International Relations, Director of the Asian Research Foundation at the Center for Governance, Kennedy School of Government and Public Policy (HKS), Harvard University, Director of the Project "Undiscovered Legacy of the Vietnam War" visited the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site (Nam Dan).. Welcoming the delegation was Mr. Bui Cong Vinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports.

At the special National MonumentKim Lien, the delegation visited the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and offered flowers and incense, and visited the relic of the house of Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac - where President Ho Chi Minh lived during his childhood.

On this occasion, the delegation presented the Special National MonumentKim Lien, a microfilm copy of a document, is a notebook of a military unit in the B3 battlefield - Central Highlands, in which, expressing love for Uncle Ho as a symbol and motivation for soldiers to fight to protect the Fatherland.

The notebook contains poems dedicated to Uncle Ho's birthday. This is truly a valuable document showing the love and respect of the people for Uncle Ho. The document was taken on microfilm and evaluated by research experts from Harvard University.

Previously, in Hanoi, the Harvard University delegation met with the National Steering Committee for the Search, Collection and Identification of Martyrs’ Remains to promote cooperation, including the “Undiscovered Vietnam War Heritage” Project to help the Vietnamese government and people identify and locate martyrs’ remains based on American historical sources, including millions of documents of the Vietnam People’s Army captured by the US on the battlefield.

This project is carried out on the basis ofThe Memorandum of Understanding between the two governments of Vietnam and the United States to implement the "Initiative to Search for Vietnamese Persons Missing in Action" was signed in July 2021.
