Searching for the truck that caused the accident for the old man and then fled

(Baonghean.vn) - A 1.5-ton truck was traveling when it suddenly hit a man on a bicycle and fled the scene. Luckily, the man was discovered by people who called an ambulance to take him to the hospital.

The incident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. (November 27) at the intersection of Lenin Avenue and Pham Dinh Toai Street, Vinh City.

Accordingly, at the above mentioned time, the man was identified as Mr. Phan Van Vuong (born in 1942), residing in Block 4, Ha Huy Tap Ward, Vinh City, cycling to exercise. While passing through the above mentioned intersection, Mr. Vuong was hit hard by a small truck (1.5 ton type).

The sudden collision threw Mr. Vuong about 5 meters away, leaving him unconscious on Lenin Avenue with blood stains. He was discovered by local residents who promptly called 115 to take him to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency treatment.

Witnesses to the accident said: We (3 people) were walking and exercising when we heard a loud noise. When we looked over, we saw the bicycle and Mr. Vuong lying unconscious on the road. At that time, we only saw a 1.5-ton small truck with blue stickers on both sides. This truck was traveling from the center of Vinh City to Vinh airport. Even though we shouted that the truck had caused the accident, the driver refused to stop and ran away.

At the scene, Mr. Vuong’s bicycle was hit by a truck and broken, two shoes were thrown off his feet, one in each direction. According to witnesses, Mr. Vuong was seriously injured and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

At around 6am, Vinh City Traffic Police arrived at the scene to record, collect evidence and search for the vehicle that caused the accident and fled.
