29 defendants prosecuted in case of burning to death 3 police officers in Dong Tam
Today (June 25), the Hanoi People's Procuracy issued an indictment to prosecute 29 defendants in the case of pouring gasoline and burning to death three police officers in Dong Tam commune, My Duc district.
The 29 defendants prosecuted for the crimes of Murder and Resisting Law Enforcement Officers all reside in Hoanh and Dong Mit villages, Dong Tam commune.
According to the indictment, despite knowing clearly that the land in Senh field, Dong Tam commune is National Defense land, since 2013, Mr. Le Dinh Kinh (born 1936, in Hoanh village) and other defendants established a "Consensus Group" with the purpose of retaking the Senh field land to divide among themselves.
The defendants regularly incited and incited the masses to file complaints about the management and use of land by the Dong Tam commune government; used social networks to propagate that Dong Senh land belonged to Dong Tam people; and at the same time called for a fight to protect the land.

The accusation is that from 2017 to 2020, Mr. Kinh directed the "Consensus Group" and many other subjects to cause public disorder, illegally detain people, and intentionally damage property...
Upon learning that the Hanoi Police were coordinating with the Air Defense - Air Force (Ministry of National Defense) to protect the construction force building the fence of Mieu Mon Airport on Dong Senh land, Mr. Kinh and other defendants contributed money to buy 10 grenades, gasoline, iron pipes with knives and sickles attached, and prepared a number of other tools to attack the authorities.
On the afternoon of January 8, under the direction of Mr. Le Dinh Kinh, the defendants brought weapons to Mr. Kinh's house to attack the police force.
In the early morning of January 9, when the police force arrived at the gate of Hoanh village, Dong Tam commune (about 50m from Mr. Kinh's house) to protect the target according to the plan, Bui Van Nien and Le Dinh Quan rang the alarm bell.
Other defendants fired signal flares and artillery at the police; standing on the roof, they used bricks, petrol bombs, and knives to attack the police.
The working group repeatedly used loudspeakers to call on the subjects to immediately stop their illegal acts, but to no avail.
Le Dinh Chuc and Le Dinh Cong threw grenades at the Task Force on duty but they did not explode.
3 soldiers died
According to the assignment, Mr. Nguyen Huy Thinh (born in 1972, Deputy Commander of Regiment E22 - Mobile Police Command), Mr. Pham Cong Huy (born in 1992, officer of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Hanoi Police) and Mr. Duong Duc Hoang Quan (born in 1993, officer of the Mobile Police Command), along with many others, deployed a plan to break in and arrest the subjects for criminal acts.
When Mr. Thinh, Huy and Quan moved to the roof of Le Dinh Chuc's house, Chuc used an iron pipe with a knife attached to it to stab them from above. Meanwhile, other subjects threw petrol bombs and bricks, causing three police officers to fall into a hole near Mr. Kinh's house.
Chuc told Le Dinh Doanh to pour gasoline from the can into a basin so that Chuc could pour it into the hole where the three police officers fell and set it on fire. As a result, Thinh, Huy and Quan died from suffocation and fire.
Investigation results determined that Mr. Le Dinh Kinh, along with Le Dinh Cong, Bui Viet Hieu, Nguyen Van Tuyen and Nguyen Quoc Tien, played the role of mastermind, both directing other defendants and directly committing the crime of murder.
Mr. Le Dinh Kinh's actions constituted the crime of murder, but because Mr. Kinh died in the early morning of the day the incident occurred, the investigation agency did not mention handling it.
