World media admires Hoang Xuan Vinh's miracle

In the article summarizing the first official competition day of the 2016 Rio Olympics, Reuters news agency placed Hoang Xuan Vinh's Gold Medal in the most visible position with the caption: "Xuan Vinh Hoang became the first Vietnamese athlete in history to win an Olympic Gold Medal with a score of 202.5 in the men's 10m air pistol event. Meanwhile, the BBC (UK) reported: “Vietnam won the first Olympic Gold Medal in history when Hoang Xuan Vinh won the men's 10m air pistol event. Felipe Wu took the lead in the penultimate round but Hoang Xuan Vinh denied Felipe Wu the Gold Medal with a great effort.”

The Telegraph (UK) congratulated Vietnamese sports: “Oh Vietnam! They won the Gold Medal. And that is the first time in history.”

Xinhua News Agency (China) was also extremely surprised by the achievement of the Vietnamese shooter: “Hoang Xuan Vinh helped Vietnam win its first Olympic Gold Medal in history.
