Commander of Military Region 4 inspects storm response work at units
Inspecting the response to storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh - Commander of Military Region 4 requested agencies and units to absolutely not be subjective or negligent; to prepare means and forces to respond.
On September 6, a working delegation of Military Region 4 led by Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh - Commander of the Military Region inspected the response to storm No. 3 (storm Yagi) in Quynh Luu district.
Also attending were: Colonel Pham Van Dong - Deputy Chief of Politics of Military Region 4; Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command.

The working delegation grasped the storm response situation at the Quynh Luu District Military Command and the situation of boat anchoring at Lach Quen Fishing Port.

Accordingly, Quynh Luu district has 9 coastal communes; 101 large and small lakes and dams, of which 6 large reservoirs are managed by the irrigation enterprise and 95 lakes are managed by communes. The whole district has 50 km of flood prevention dykes, 16 saline prevention sluices to regulate and discharge floods. The river and sea dykes also have many weak sections with the potential risk of dam overflow and dyke breakage during the rainy season. The whole district has 687 ships and boats with 3,666 workers at sea.
In recent days, the District Military Command has coordinated with the Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station to grasp the number of local ships and boats, of which 602 ships/2,950 people have anchored at ports in the province; 81 ships/693 people are anchored at ports in the provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa; 4 ships/23 people are anchored in the Gulf of Tonkin.

In recent days, the Military Command of Quynh Luu district has strictly maintained its duty schedule, proactively grasped the weather situation, regularly inspected the preparation of forces and means for natural disaster prevention and control, and search and rescue. The unit has closely coordinated with the locality, ready to mobilize forces in rescue situations, dike breaks, evacuation of people, rescue of people and property on rivers, flooded areas, overcoming the consequences of storms and floods, and handling environmental sanitation, stabilizing people's lives after storms and floods...
During the inspection, Lieutenant General Ha Tho Binh praised the proactiveness of agencies and units stationed in Quynh Luu district in responding to the storm. The Commander of Military Region 4 emphasized that storm No. 3 is a strong storm with a wide area of influence. Although the North Central provinces are not the center of the storm, agencies and units must absolutely not be subjective or negligent; prepare plans, means and forces to respond.

In particular, the storm's circulation can cause heavy rain, flooding, and flash floods; therefore, units should actively and proactively grasp the area, promptly report the situation, Military Region 4 will create the best conditions in terms of means and forces, together with local Party committees and authorities, to join hands to respond to the storm, minimizing damage caused by the storm.
Also on this occasion, Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command inspected the readiness work to respond to storm No. 3 (storm Yagi).
The Commander of the Provincial Military Command requested agencies and units to regularly monitor and update the storm situation, strictly maintain the duty regime, and be ready to mobilize when ordered. Review and ensure the safety of barracks, warehouses, stations and military activities. Check the safety of ships, boats, motorbikes, rescue equipment and vehicles. Regularly coordinate with local Party committees, authorities and units stationed in the area to grasp the situation and be ready to mobilize to help people when ordered.
