Specifically, according to Circular No. 28/2022/TT-BGTVT (regulations on management, maintenance, sharing, and ensuring the security of vehicle registration data) issued by the Ministry of Transport and officially effective from February 1, 2023, vehicle owners can access vehicle registration data information.

According to Circular No. 28/2022/TT-BGTVT, information on vehicle registration data under the scope of the Ministry of Transport will be connected to a shared database and shared with agencies, organizations and legal owners and managers of vehicles.

In particular, for cars, the minimum amount of registration information data shared is 28 items, including: Management number, license plate, place of registration, vehicle status, registration date, registration expiration date, brand, engine number, country and year of manufacture, number of people allowed to carry, permitted traffic weight...

For automobiles, the minimum amount of registration information data shared is 28 items.

Meanwhile, for motorbikes, only 13 categories of registration information are shared, including: origin (domestic assembly or imported), certificate number, date of certificate issuance, year of manufacture, trade name, frame number, engine number, capacity, weight, vehicle size...

This information will be created and updated by the inspection unit to the data system. Then, the Vietnam Register will integrate, connect and share it into the shared database of the Ministry of Transport.

Motor vehicle owners can access vehicle inspection data through the Vietnam Register's website without creating an account. In addition, vehicle owners can also request the Vietnam Register or the inspection unit to provide vehicle information in written form. However, the request must clearly state the purpose of use and must pay printing, copying, and photocopying fees as prescribed in Circular 46 of the Ministry of Finance.
