Airbags in cars and things drivers must absolutely avoid
Airbags are considered a lifesaver in every collision, so to maximize its function, drivers should not make mistakes because it is very dangerous.
According to Toyota Quang Ninh Company, airbags are made up of three main parts: airbag, air generating system, and collision sensor.
Accordingly, once there is a collision, the function of the sensor called ACU will identify the level of collision through the accelerometer, the braking force then the airbag inflation system is activated. Once the amount of inflated gas is compressed, the airbag will suddenly pop out at a maximum speed, estimated at 300km/h. Then, only about 5 seconds later, the airbag will gradually deflate and escape through small holes so that the driver is not in danger.
Airbags are a part that helps drivers be safer in collisions, so pay special attention to how they work to avoid danger. |
Currently, there are two most common types of airbags: front-mounted and side-mounted. With front-mounted airbags, in a minor collision, depending on the vehicle model and type, the airbags may or may not be activated. In moderate or severe collisions, the front airbags will inflate in the shortest time possible to prevent collisions that may injure passengers in the vehicle.
The second most common type is the side airbag. When there is a collision from the side of the car, the airbag will be activated to best protect the important parts of the passengers in the car such as the head, chest, and shoulders. You can survive thanks to the side airbag, it will minimize the level of traumatic brain injury in the event of a collision.
However, airbags do not always deploy, depending on the situation, depending on the electronic calculations on the vehicle, many times with collisions that cause severe damage to the front of the vehicle, the airbags still do not deploy simply because the sensors on the vehicle calculate incorrectly. Sometimes the airbags do not deploy due to the driver's mistake. Therefore, for the airbags to operate most effectively and ensure the highest safety, the driver and passengers in the vehicle need to note:
Drivers must know that when the airbag system explodes, it will be very fast and create a very strong force, so do not put any objects in front of the airbag. If the airbag explodes suddenly, these objects will be scattered on the driver as well as the passengers in the car, causing serious injury.
Absolutely do not let children under 12 years old sit in the front seat, this is very dangerous when the belt system does not have enough pulling force to operate, so when the airbag system deploys, it will be very dangerous because the explosive force of the airbag is very strong and can cause injury or even death to children.
Do not place the child seat facing forward in a vehicle equipped with a front passenger airbag.
It is especially dangerous to sit too close to the airbag or to put your hands or feet on the airbag because the force of the airbag explosion is so strong that it can cause injury. Therefore, the driver should practice sitting in the correct position, always holding the outer rim of the steering wheel, leaning back against the seat and fastening the seat belt properly.
It is also important to note that drivers should not attempt to repair or tamper with the airbag system themselves. This could cause the airbag to explode unexpectedly or disable the airbag system.
One final note that everyone needs to know to avoid is that after the explosion it will be very hot, you should not touch the parts inside the airbag after it explodes because you may get burned.
