The Cau Ngu Festival in Son Hai is a traditional local festival held on January 12 and 13 every year with rituals such as the Nghinh Than Ceremony, Cau An Ceremony... The Cau Ngu Festival consists of two main parts: The ceremony includes the opening ceremony, the announcement ceremony, the praying for fish ceremony, the great sacrifice ceremony, and the thanksgiving ceremony at the procession points such as Trung Communal House, Thoi Temple, the Memorial, and Yen Thai Pagoda. The festival includes cultural and artistic activities, folk games, and two processions. One group goes by waterway, consisting of 7 large, splendidly decorated boats, from Trung Communal House to Thoi Temple, and another group goes by land, carrying the palanquin from Trung Communal House to Thoi Temple. After that, the two groups will gather for the ceremony at Yen Thai Pagoda and return to Trung Communal House. The participating groups will wear costumes that reflect their own characteristics.
