Having 3 criminal records, the 'drug addict' specializes in lurking around people's houses to steal property.

The Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Province Police said that it has just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused Chu Trong Hung (born in 1994), residing in Nghi Yen Commune, Nghi Loc District (Nghe An), who is the subject who caused a series of property thefts in the districts located along National Highway 1A.

Recently, in Nghi Loc, Dien Chau and Quynh Luu districts, there have been a series of motorbike thefts and safe break-ins. A special project was established to combat them.

Using synchronous professional measures, the Task Force identified the subject who caused the series of thefts above as Chu Trong Hung.

Unemployed and heavily addicted, Hung often searched for vulnerable houses to steal property. He had three previous convictions for theft. After being released from prison, he did not try to make a living but continued to "go back to his old ways".

Typically, on July 5, Hung and another subject sneaked into the house of Mr. Dam Ngoc Tung in village 2, Ngoc Son commune and used a safe cutter to steal money. When discovered by the homeowner, the two subjects fled into the forest. Immediately after, the police force captured the subject accompanying Hung, Cao Van Thuy. Hung quickly escaped. Evidence collected at the scene included 1 motorbike, 1 iron scissors, 1 cutter, 1 sword and 1 travel bag (including personal belongings and nearly 452 million VND).

According to police documents, after failing to carry out the safe theft, Hung fled to the South in an attempt to hide. Some time later, he returned to Nghe An to continue stealing motorbikes in the area.

Having fully consolidated the documents and evidence, the Task Force decided to crack the case and arrest the suspect while he was hiding in Dien Chau district. At the investigation agency, the suspect confessed to having committed 2 motorbike thefts in Dien Chau, 3 motorbike thefts in Nghi Loc and 1 safe theft in Quynh Luu district. After stealing the property, he sold it to have money to spend and buy drugs.

Currently, the Nghe An Provincial Police Department has initiated a case and prosecuted the suspect Chu Trong Hung for theft of property.
