Overseas Vietnamese youth visit Uncle Ho's hometown

(Baonghean.vn) - Within the framework of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2016 program with the theme "Overseas Vietnamese Youth with National Cultural Heritage", on the afternoon of July 14, 110 outstanding faces representing overseas Vietnamese youth and students living in 24 countries and territories around the world visited their paternal and maternal homelands and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at the Kim Lien Relic Site, Nam Dan.

Also attending were representatives of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, and a large number of youth union members of the province.

The Vietnam Summer Camp 2016 program takes place from July 10 to July 23, 2016 in the provinces and cities of Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Da Nang to create conditions for overseas Vietnamese youth to visit and learn about the country's cultural heritage and historical relics.

Through the gratitude and commemoration activities of the Vietnam Summer Camp 2016, overseas Vietnamese youths are educated in the tradition of patriotism and deep gratitude to the generations of fathers and ancestors who sacrificed their blood for national independence, national unification, and protection of territorial sovereignty, thereby enhancing their pride in the country and their esteem for their homeland and roots.

For many young overseas Vietnamese, this is the first time they have returned home and visited President Ho Chi Minh's hometown.

In Nghe An, overseas Vietnamese youth offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and visited Uncle Ho's paternal and maternal hometowns.
