(Baonhean.vn) - On August 6, union members and youth from many localities in the province launched a volunteer campaign called "Green Sunday".

*Thai Hoa Town:The Standing Committee of the Town Youth Union has directed 10/10 Youth Union units of communes, wards and affiliated Youth Unions to simultaneously launch a general environmental cleaning campaign to prevent dengue fever in the town.

In the current rainy and humid weather conditions, the risk of dengue fever spreading is very high and complicated. In Thai Hoa town, up to now, there have been 7 cases confirmed to be infected with dengue fever.

The propaganda, prevention and control of dengue fever will be directed by the Standing Committee of Thai Hoa City Youth Union to be implemented by the Youth Union bases every Saturday and Sunday, maintained from now until the end of the rainy season in 2017.

Nghia Dan District:The Youth Union mobilized more than 500 union members and young people to participate in tasks such as cleaning main roads, collecting garbage on roads around towns, markets, and schools.

Union members and young people also help policy families and single-parent families in difficult circumstances; dredge canals in the fields; clean clean water tanks; clear bushes, and propagate dengue prevention...

“Green Sunday” contributes to raising awareness among union members and young people about the spirit of volunteerism and responsibility of youth in participating in protecting the living environment, while contributing to keeping the environment green - clean - beautiful.

Tan Ky:The District Youth Union directed grassroots Youth Union organizations in the district to simultaneously launch "Green Sunday" with specific tasks and activities, contributing to ensuring that the environmental landscape on inner-city roads, village roads, and alleys is always bright, green, clean, and beautiful.

In the Lat town area, more than 300 union members and youth of Tan Ky High School, Vocational Education Center - Continuing Education and the Town Youth Union responded to the movement, mobilized to clean up the inner-city roads, office premises; brought waste to the collection point; removed and erased sample signs, advertisements, and classified ads on leaflets on walls, electric poles, and lamp posts on the main inner-city roads.

In addition, at other grassroots Youth Union organizations, union members and young people also responded by hanging signs on the "Youth self-management - bright - green - clean - beautiful - secure" route; cleaning up village roads, alleys, communal office areas, memorials, clearing bushes, dredging canals in the fields; collecting bottles, pesticide residues, agricultural waste...

In addition, through loudspeakers and radio, the youth of the whole district have promoted propaganda and mobilized people not to litter, to dump garbage on time and in designated places, to keep water sources and livestock barns clean, to use fertilizers and pesticides according to instructions and procedures... contributing to the formation of a civilized lifestyle, more responsible for the environment.

This activity is also a meaningful part of the grassroots Youth Union organizations welcoming the 20th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Tan Ky district, term 2017-2022.
