Nghe An youth enthusiastically participate in National Green Sunday

On the morning of October 11, at Dien Kim commune, Dien Chau district (Nghe An), the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union directed the Standing CommitteeNghe An Provincial Youth UnionCoordinate with host units to organize the Green Sunday launch and tree planting campaign to welcome the 2020 Party Congresses at all levels.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Vu Minh Thao - Deputy Head of the Central Youth Union's Rural Youth Department; representatives of youth unions of a number of central ministries, departments and branches.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of Dien Chau district and more than 1,000 students and people of Dien Kim commune, Dien Chau district.

Faced with the challenges of climate change, increasing the planting and care of trees and protecting the environment is extremely necessary and has great significance. Planting more trees will help overcome devastation and indiscriminate exploitation of forests, prevent erosion, limit floods, prevent sand encroachment and saltwater intrusion. Planting more trees will help limit environmental pollution and keep the air clean.

In order to promote the pioneering, voluntary and creative role of young people in the field of environmental protection and climate change response, and at the same time create a ripple effect in the community, in 2020, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union directed the simultaneous organization of 4 Green Sundays and 3 tree planting campaigns with very specific contents.

Over the years, environmental protection activities organized by the Youth Union have become increasingly practical and effective, attracting a large number of union members and young people to participate, becoming a beauty of youth with many diverse and rich activities.

From the movements, many good models and creative ways have emerged such as: "goby fish asking for trash" at the beach, "youth garden", "youth flower street", establishing environmental protection clubs, "exchanging trash for trees", "turning trash into playgrounds"...

Nghe An Provincial Youth Union launched a campaign for the Youth Union members in the province to respond to the implementation of the contents according to the plan of the Central Youth Union, mobilizing the Youth Union members to actively participate in activities of planting, caring for and protecting trees, participating in environmental cleaning activities; regularly propagating the role and responsibility of the Youth Union members and people in environmental protection.
