Tuong Duong: 9 months discovered and handled 47 cases of forestry law violations
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 8, the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district held a conference to review one year of implementing Directive No. 13-CT/TW dated January 12, 2017 of the Party Central Committee Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in forest management, protection and development;
Attending the conference were comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of a number of relevant Departments and Branches.

The project to implement and strengthen forest management, protection and development in Tuong Duong district was approved by Nghe An Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3500/QD-UBND dated August 3, 2017.
After one year of implementing the Project to implement Directive No. 13-CT/TW, there have been practical activities in forest management, protection and development.
Tuong Duong is the district with the largest area in the province, including 253,052.61 hectares of forest and forestry land, accounting for 90% of the district's natural area; the forested land area is 223,422.35 hectares, the current forest cover reaches 79.47%.
This is also a locality with many forest owners who are state organizations located in the area such as: Pu Mat National Park, Pu Huong Nature Reserve, Protective Forest Management Board, Tuong Duong Forestry One Member Co., Ltd., Tam Hop Border Youth Village.
In the first 9 months of 2018, Tuong Duong district detected and handled 47 cases of forestry law violations. The total amount of fines and forest product sales paid to the State budget was more than 356,700,000 VND. Small violations were handled promptly, strictly, with the right person, the right crime, and the right law, creating deterrence, education, and propaganda.
The whole district has 10,760 households allocated land and granted forest land use right certificates with an area of 53,172.85 hectares, of which 5,937 households have participated in forest protection under the forest environmental service payment program with a total forest land area of 27,616.66 hectares.
After discussions from the industry and localities on the advantages and difficulties in forest protection and development, the Conference deployed the content of forest allocation associated with forestry land allocation and granting of land use right certificates according to the Project approved by the Provincial People's Committee, in Decision 4213/QD-UBND dated September 20, 2018.

Speaking and directing the Conference, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that the locality needs to direct functional agencies to thoroughly handle violations in forest protection; effectively implement policies and mechanisms for forest protection and development; promptly and qualitatively implement projects, sudden arising issues, and Central directives on forest protection and development.
