Commemorating the 75th death anniversary of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai

(Baonghean.vn)- On August 8 (July 6, Binh Than year), at the Memorial House of Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (Quang Trung ward, Vinh city), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nghe An Monuments and Landscapes Management Board held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 75th death anniversary of Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai.

Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Cao Thi Hien - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Le Minh Thong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ho Phuc Hop - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; together with representatives of provincial agencies, Vinh City People's Committee, Quang Trung Ward People's Committee and a large number of Vinh City people.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, the delegates reviewed the biography and heroic revolutionary activities of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai. Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, real name Nguyen Thi Vinh, was born on November 1, 1910, in the old Ga street, Vinh Yen commune (now Quang Trung ward, Vinh city).

At the age of 16, comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai officially embarked on the revolutionary path and joined the Tan Viet Party. With her enthusiasm and patriotism, the Party entrusted her with many important tasks such as: Secretary for comrade Nguyen Ai Quoc at the Eastern branch office of the Communist International in Hong Kong, China in 1930; in 1935, participating in the 7th Congress of the Communist International in Matisse; in 1937, holding the position of Secretary of the Saigon - Cho Lon City Party Committee, directly leading the Southern uprising in 1940.

On July 30, 1940, comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai was arrested by the French colonialists at the Big Prison - Saigon and sentenced to death by the Saigon military court. On August 28, 1941 (July 6, Tan Ty year), comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai heroically sacrificed herself at the Ba Diem shooting range - Hoc Mon, Gia Dinh.

Delegates listened to an introduction about the revolutionary activities of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai.

At the ceremony, delegates offered incense to pay their respects and commemorate the great contributions of comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - an outstanding daughter of Vinh city, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, who sacrificed her whole life for the Fatherland.
