Honoring the brave 9th grade student who saved a drowning child
(Baonghean.vn) - A 9th grade male student in Quynh Hong commune (Quynh Luu) was commended for his bravery in saving a drowning person.
On the afternoon of April 22, at Quynh Hong Secondary School, the Standing Committee of Quynh Luu District Youth Union coordinated with the school to organize a ceremony to honor Dang Ngoc Thai An, a 9D student, for his brave act of saving a drowning person at the commune's lotus pond.
Previously, on the afternoon of April 20, Dang Ngoc Thai An went to make a citizen identification card at Quynh Hong Secondary School. When passing the Martyrs Memorial of the commune, he discovered a group of first graders standing on the shore, pointing down to the lotus pond. Sensing something was wrong, An stopped his car and drove over to see someone in the pond being stabbed.drowning, hands raised in the air. Discovering the incident, An immediately jumped in and saved the child to shore.

Because he had just been trained in first aid for drowning, An knew how to perform chest compressions and artificial respiration when he brought the baby to shore. A moment later, the baby spat out water and regained consciousness. That was T.D.A, a 1B student at Quynh Hong Primary School.
Teacher Ngo Thi Hai Anh - Principal of Quynh Hong Secondary School (Quynh Luu) said: On the afternoon of April 21, the family of the drowned student came to the school to thank Dang Ngoc Thai An for his brave action, not afraid of danger, to save the drowning child. After this incident, we continue to promote education for students on humanity and courage, and at the same time coordinate with professional agencies to train and improve students' skills in self-rescue and rescue of drowning people.
