USD exchange rate today in the world
The DXY index, which measures the USD against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 103.12 points, down 0.11 points compared to the transaction on August 12, 2024.
The US dollar steadied in the last trading session, amid a more stable currency market, as investors weighed the possibility of a deep interest rate cut by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) next month, following a series of US economic data as well as last week's volatile moves.
The recovery comes after a volatile week of trading that began with a major sell-off across currencies and stocks, fueled by concerns about the US economy and the Bank of Japan's hawkish stance.
The dollar rose 0.33 percent against the Japanese yen, at 147.1 yen, and was unchanged against the Swiss franc, at 0.8661.

USD exchange rate forecast
“The US dollar, which surged on safe-haven demand, has had a brief respite as market sentiment improved. However, the long-term trend of the currency still depends on the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy stance,” financial market analyst Günay Caymaz said on Investing.com.
With inflation still high, the Fed faces a difficult task of balancing price pressures and avoiding recession. The upcoming release of US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data will be closely watched for clues on the central bank's next move.
Although the market has shown signs of recovery, the possibility of renewed volatility remains high. Investors should adopt a cautious approach and closely monitor economic indicators for further information."
