Unemployment rate increased in the educated group, decreased in the intermediate vocational group
In the second quarter of 2019, the whole country had 1,054 thousand unemployed people of working age, of which the number of unemployed people with university degrees was more than 160.5 thousand people; college was 68.7 thousand people; intermediate was 49.6 thousand people; primary vocational was 16.8 thousand people.
This figure was given in the Vietnam Labor Market Newsletter No. 22, Quarter II/2019. Accordingly, in Quarter II/2019, the whole country had 1,054 thousand unemployed people, a decrease of 4.82 thousand people compared to Quarter I/2019 and a decrease of 7.19 thousand people compared to Quarter II/2018.
This is the fourth consecutive quarter with a decrease in the number of unemployed people, since the second quarter of 2018. The unemployment rate of working-age people is 2.16%, lower than the previous quarter and the same period last year.
The unemployment rate for university graduates increased by 0.57% quarter-on-quarter and 0.26% year-on-year. The unemployment rate for college graduates increased by 0.07% quarter-on-quarter but decreased by 0.47% year-on-year.

Some sectors will see a decrease in labor demand, such as Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (270 thousand people); Administrative activities and support services (20 thousand people).
