This call was made at a time when Mrs. Clinton is facing many challenges when internal letters in the computer system of the Democratic National Committee were leaked showing that the party leaders tried to weaken the election campaign of Mr. Bernie Sanders, who was Mrs. Clinton's opponent in the internal campaign of the Party.

Speaking to reporters in Florida, Mr. Trump said, “Hey, Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you can find Hillary’s 30,000 personal emails that were deleted. I think the media will welcome you.”

Mr Trump reiterated his call on Twitter, writing, “If Russia or any other country has Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 illegally deleted private emails, perhaps they should share them with the FBI.”

Mrs Clinton's campaign manager said Mr Trump's comments had "incited a foreign power to conduct espionage activities".

“This is the first time a presidential candidate has ever solicited a foreign power to conduct espionage against a political opponent,” Clinton foreign policy adviser Jake Sullivan said. “I’m not exaggerating, it’s true. Because the Russian hacking of the Democratic Party is not just a political issue, it’s a national security issue.”

The latest statements by the two US presidential candidates were made amid accusations that Russia interfered in the US presidential election campaign, even influencing the process in favor of candidate Donald Trump. Russia immediately denied the accusations, affirming that Moscow has never interfered and does not interfere in the internal affairs, especially the election process, of other countries.

In addition, Mr. Trump also affirmed that the US-Russia relationship would be better if he became the US President, not Mrs. Clinton. Mr. Trump said he would deal with Russian President Putin "firmly", but expressed his ambition to improve bilateral relations.
