(Baonghean.vn) – Yesterday (August 7), U22 Thailand gathered again. However, 9 players were still busy playing in the Thai League.

While U22 Vietnam has been training for the entire month to prepare for the 29th SEA Games, U22 Thailand's preparation has been interrupted because the players have to play for their clubs in the Thai League. Not only that, the defending champion of the tournament also does not have the service of several key players due to injuries, typically goalkeeper Rattanai Songsangchan, midfielder Anon Amornlerdsak, midfielder Supachai Jaided, midfielder Wongsakorn Chaikul Teawin or striker Jakkit Wechpirom...

Recently, the coaching staff of U22 Thailand was forced to remove Rattanai Sonsanchan from the team when this talented goalkeeper suffered a serious shoulder injury and needed a long-term rest. However, with the presence of 20-year-old goalkeeper Nont Muangngam, who trained at Newcastle United and is a former player of the French U16 national team, coach Worrawoot Srimaka appeared quite calm.

Speaking on the evening of August 7 on the homepage of the Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand), coach Worrawoot Srimaka said: “In these last five days of training, the whole team must try their best. All mental and physical factors need to be improved. In particular, the players will be restricted from using phones and communication devices during the training period.

At the moment, our squad is struggling. There are three players who are injured: Chenrop Samphaodi, Suriya Singmui (groin injury) and Chaiyawat Buran (recurrence of injury). However, the remaining players are still capable of carrying the load. We need to train both morning and evening before releasing the training load at the time of flying to Malaysia. The remaining players are capable and we have to compete in the remaining time."

Not only that, U22 Thailand only had 17 out of 26 names called up to be present with coach Srimaka yesterday. The remaining players will gather late after playing in the Thai League. Preparing for the 29th SEA Games, U22 Thailand will have a friendly match with Eastern FC (Hong Kong) next Thursday, before leaving for Malaysia on August 12.
