U22 Vietnam wins big against 'blue team' Korea

Coach Nguyen Huu Thang's students defeated Mokpo Club 4-1 in a friendly match on the afternoon of August 5 in Korea.

Midfielder Nguyen Phong Hong Duy and striker Ha Duc Chinh both scored two goals to bring home a resounding victory.

During the training in Korea to prepare for the 29th SEA Games, the U22 Vietnam team was stationed at the Mokpo football center and chose the host team to play a friendly match to test the force.

Mokpo is playing in the Korean third division and is not a strong opponent. Therefore, coach Huu Thang only created conditions for players who are often on the bench such as Thanh Thinh, Tan Sinh, Tan Tai, Van Kien, Lam Ti Phong... to enter the starting lineup. Tuan Anh is the captain.

With a patchwork lineup, the U22 Vietnam players dominated the game, but still failed to convert it into a goal in the first half. It was not until the coach from Nghe An replaced the entire lineup with quality players such as Xuan Truong, Duy Manh, Hong Duy, Van Thanh, Van Toan, Cong Phuong, Duc Chinh... after the break that the team improved.

With the new lineup, U22 Vietnam played better, creating many scoring opportunities. In the 60th and 62nd minutes, midfielder Hong Duy finished decisively, putting the away team ahead by two goals.

In the 70th and 75th minutes, striker Ha Duc Chinh scored after assists from Cong Phuong and Van Thanh to put U22 Vietnam ahead 4-0. It wasn't until the last few minutes of the match that Mokpo pulled one back from the penalty spot.

After this friendly match, the U22 Vietnam team is expected to have a second friendly match against Busan FC on August 9. On August 10, the whole team will travel to Malaysia to attend the 29th SEA Games.
