The Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with the Inspection Team of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 5th, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a working session with the Inspection Team of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs regarding the implementation of the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas and some policies in the field of ethnic affairs.

Attending the working session, on the side of the Inspection Team of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs were: Mr. Y Thong - Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs; Mr. Vo Van Bay - Chief Inspector; Mr. Tran Phi Truong - Deputy Chief Inspector and other members of the team.

Representing Nghe An province were: Mr. Bui Dinh Long – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Vi Van Son - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee; and representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and units.

The National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Nghe An province for the period 2021-2025 is implemented in 12 districts and towns, including 131 communes and 588 particularly disadvantaged villages.

The National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Nghe An province is being implemented with 10 projects, 14 sub-projects, and 36 investment support contents. Eight departments and agencies and 12 districts and towns are assigned to lead, manage, and organize the implementation.

The total investment capital plan for development in the 2021-2025 period allocated to units and localities is 2,649,811 million VND. The Provincial People's Council has allocated detailed capital estimates to project categories, sub-projects, and component contents totaling 2,649,811 million VND (Resolution No. 45/NQ-HĐND dated October 12, 2022 and No. 41/NQ-HĐND dated September 11, 2023), achieving 100% of the budget allocated by the Prime Minister.

The total estimated capital allocated to units and localities for implementation in 2022 was 794 billion 972 million VND: development investment capital of 492 billion 540 million VND; and recurrent expenditure capital of 302 billion 432 million VND. The total estimated capital allocated to units and localities for implementation in 2023 is 1,473,139 million VND: development investment capital of 632 billion 118 million VND; and recurrent expenditure capital of 841 billion 021 million VND.

The Provincial People's Council has allocated the central government budget in detail to the list of projects, sub-projects, and component contents, achieving 100% of the budget allocated by the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Bui Dinh Long, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, affirmed that the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas is facing many difficulties and obstacles that need to be overcome.

Some sub-projects, despite having specific guidelines, have not been implemented in a timely manner. Therefore, inspections will help resolve difficulties and obstacles and identify important issues in the implementation of the Program.

Concluding the working session, Deputy Minister Y Thong, Vice Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs, requested the People's Committee of Nghe An province and its departments and agencies to accelerate the implementation of the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021-2025.

In particular, it is important to expedite the disbursement of funds, creating conditions for ethnic minority communities to benefit from the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State as soon as possible.
