(Baonghean.vn) - On June 1, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien signed and issued an Official Dispatch of the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening the management of activities, business, and registration of electric motorbikes and electric motorcycles.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to direct forces, communes, wards, towns and socio-political organizations to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations related to electric two-wheeled vehicles.

Pay special attention to the principles of safe traffic participation and the implementation of registration obligations for electric motorbikes and electric motorcycles; encourage people to complete the registration of electric motorbikes and electric motorcycles in circulation before July 1, 2016.

Along with that, the district police were directed to go directly to schools to organize propaganda, provide guidance, carry out registration procedures, and issue license plates for electric motorbikes and electric motorcycles to students.

From July 1, 2016, authorities will handle administrative violations against electric motorbikes and electric scooters that are not registered and have license plates according to the law.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned specific tasks to the Provincial Police and relevant departments, branches and units to coordinate and effectively implement the management of production, business and registration of electric motorbikes and electric motorcycles in the province;

At the same time, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee is assigned to regularly monitor, inspect, and urge the implementation of registration and management of electric motorbikes and electric motorcycles, and evaluate the implementation at units and localities.
